Should pets talk?

Good day! It's been a while for me to blog. A basset is a busy creature ya know. My mom says, "If only you could talk Charlie..." Do humans really fink of all da fings we see? Do humans really want their pets to talk??? I highly doubt it. We hear all da secrets, fighting, planning, and such. We hear what da kids will be getting for bdays and Christmas, we hear how da mom and dad mutter not so nice grumblings about each other, we hear lotsa gossip too, especially about the human's work places. So in reality....I don't think humans wish we could talk. There are 3 bassets here so mom sure would have a hard time keeping da 2 kids plus us 3 quiet! Besides, bassets will do ANYTHING for foodies, so I am sure I would spill da beans for a treat!!!

Size 6 is da new Plus Size for women? Is dat really an issue?

Read an article dat was just...funny, annoying, and nearly stoopid. For some reason or anudder, da fashion world has said dat a size 6 is da new Plus Size. I remember back in da day when a size 6 was da "perfect size". ..you remember all da weight loss commercials "I went from a 14 to a size 6, I went from a 22 to a size 6" and blah blah blah. However for many years now fashion models look WORSE than the poor victims of da Holocaust. In reality, I sure dont see alot of people where I live sporting the Holocaust look. Yet, there are size 6s, 8s, 10s and so forth that look a whole lot better than these nearly dead looking runway models. SO, in the article there was a "normal" looking gal posing naked wiff a rather skinny gal (nothing like the dead runway model tho). Several big wigs in da fashion industry was unaffected by da article and one lady nearly cried when she saw da photos...did you catch dat??? She nearly cried over the photos. My whole point is: fashion, glamour, Hollywood, famous folks, media, entertainment has gone far beyond and has consumed people to the point of crying over pictures? There are far greater fings in dis world to cry over and to be heartfelt about such as the homeless, the jobless, the abused and neglected, lonely elderly folks, the hungry...right now as today marks da 2nd mark of the horrible earffquake to hit Haiti over 1/2 a million people are still living in tents whose homes were destroyed. Dat seems like a sensible fing to get emotional about. Our country is in a mess, dat is something to get emotional about.
I do understand that the runway skeletons are very unhealthy and dat is concerning. But let's get real: they chose dat profession and da fings dat go wiff it. Dat is no different than knowing a starved alligator is in your bafftub but you get in anyways...dat is your choice and what you have to live wiff. If the skeleton girls want out of dat profession then they have da choice to leave and get some meat on their bones. Their choice. But it's not a choice for those Haitians, it's not a choice for those who get pink slips, it's not a choice for voiceless animals, children, and elderly endure extreme hardships and have no way out, it's not a choice for so many affected by hard times all around the world. (Yes, I do realize there are people who DO choose to live like this and those are exempt from dis post, this is about good working and self sustaining people).
Also to add to dis, my opinion on reality shows which I feel is a big contributor to the lack of emotional prioritization of hoomans. It's called desensitization. The more the media feeds chaos, wild sexual behaviors bad attitudes, addictions, unrulely children, and pure filth on tv it desensitizes the emotions and it becomes a "norm", it becomes "not a big deal"...and then when real issues in lives are affected the emotional need from others is not there or what it should be. We dont own or watch tv. I do however investigate the fads and will watch a few episodes of these popular fad shows on youtube (and have been subjected at my patient's homes to the stuff)...and I, myself, am appalled...I most of the time cannot watch a whole episode. Those images and fings gnaw at me and I dont understand why in the world these shows are so popular. Maybe people who dont live in those situations are curious about how others live...I have no idea. But the issue is, those shows, media, entertainment will desensitize emotions and very quickly it can happen. Maybe I enjoy being blind and sheltered from other's chaotic lifestyles, but I am not ignorant to the fact that some people have very hard lives to live everyday and I dont have to watch it unfold on tv. We should be willing to volunteer, counsel, be a Big Brother or Big Sister (not dat stoopid show) to kids in need, work at a soup kitchen, foster a child or a dog....do puzzles, read...."be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little ears what you hear..." For the eyes connect the heart and soul of a hooman. My heart goes out to the real emotional issues dat occur to people, for there is hope and good in all people. With their choice and help from others dat good can be unlocked. It cant be unlocked with emotionally blank people.
I will try to post da link to dat stoopid article...bear wiff me as I learn dis blog stuff.

Lack of understanding of hooman luv...

As I lay here on da couch, I ponder such fings as my lack of understanding of hooman luv. I look at my momma dog and see her filled wiff luv for us bassets and all living creatures (minus piss ants and frogs). We are richly blessed and very spoiled. We get to lay and distribute hairz upon da furniture and bed. We get to zoom thru da house, we strow fluff all over da house, and other very annoying fings. Ivy really rolls on momma dog's dome to wake her up, she barks at the crack of dawn and chews on momma dog until she gets up to provide us foodies. Momma dog spends lotsa money on us to keep us healthy and all shot up wiff vaccinations. We have MANY pals who care about their furbabies like dis too. Who get hugs and kisses even tho we are covered wiff hariz. But on da flip side, there are so many, many dear furbabies dat die everyday in shelters, pounds, and/or at the hand of hoomans. I am a rather spiritual little dude and I believe dat like in da Bible we were made for hoomans to have a loyal companion. They are to care for us and luv us. But why do soooo many die? Is it because of da "busy-ness" of da hoomans? Is it because breeders can make money making lots of babies....only for many of them to be dumped, starved, dropped off at a shelter? Is it because they get tired of dealing wiff our hairz, health care costs, foodie costs, etc? My lack of understanding hooman luv also encompasses da fact of how quickly they fall out of luv wiff their companion animals and even their own kind. Dis simply amazes me. I have unconditional luv for my hoomans. I greet them every morning and say bye to them as they go about their way...I am always here to greet them when they return and I am ALWAYS happy to see them, even tho they aint da prettiest hoomans around, have bad breaff and fart alot...I still LUV them. I have not fallen out of luv wiff them. Da sad fing is, I am very well taken care of and luved but even da unfortunate companion animals desire and long for unconditional luv from a hooman. Beaten and starved animals go back to da mean hands that do horrible things to them, they continue to wag their flags for just a touch of luv. They have so much to offer the hooman but da hooman's luv was nothing but a vapor on a windy day. It saddens me to the bone to see da faces of many of thousands and thousands of animals that are posted on FB that are in shelters on deaff row and needing homes and only a tiny few of them get a home or rescued. The sadness and desperation, confusion, pain, and hurt is bleeding in their eyez...they long to give luv and to recieve luv as well.
Remember hooman pals, we are voiceless and are totally subjected to you and whatever treatment you bring to us. Dis treatment if bad can cause harms to you but we will be da ones blamed and dumped for disposal. We can't go to someone and tell them of abuse, neglect, starvation and such...please just look into our eyez and see da luv we have for you....please evaluate your luv for your companion animal. Please adopt and don't shop!!!  (Note: horses are companion animals and not for eating).  Hugs from da RHH.

Photos of me and room mates

Da first picture is me, da second is Bailey, and da last is Ivy

Greetings from me

Hello! I am Charlie and many of my FaceBook pals also know my nickname.."Da Red Hot Houndie". Dat is because I am red and I luv da lady bassets. I have two room mate basset ladies, which are more like sisters...or "pains in my arse". Their names are Bailey and Ivy. Ivy is a new addition as she was a "foster failure" meaning my owner (a,k.a momma dog) fostered her and then adopted her. Bailey is also a rescue but has been here longer than Ivy. I was da first basset on dis scene. I am a Champion Bloodline, which means problems. Yes, I have healff issues. I am almost 7 yrs old and was not supposed to live past a year. I have patent ductus arteriosis and pulmonary stenosis. My heart is HUGE and I have to take medication twice a day. I am very loved and I have a great personality. Geez, aren't all bassets great? Anyways, I sure hope u enjoy my blog. Fanks! CBS
